Plant Maintenance Rincon Hill

Beautiful San Francisco is home to seven hills: Telegraph Hill, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Rincon Hill, Twin Peaks, Mount Davidson, and Lone Mountain or Mount Sutro. Rincon Hill is a neighborhood near the Oakland Bay Bridge, and the area comprising Rincon Hill was originally a sandy peninsula forming the southern corner of Yerba Buena Cove. Rincón is Spanish for "corner. Plant maintenance Rincon Hill was unheard of in those early days.

San Franciscans used much of Rincon Hill for hunting and picnicking. That changed radically after the gold rush of 1849. During the 1850s and 1860s, Rincon Hill became a residential area for the sea captains, shipping merchants, and foreign nobility. Mansions, carriage houses, and stables dominated Rincon Hill. The location was said to have had a similar feeling and flavor as such eastern seaboard villages as Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. Unfortunately, the fire in 1906 ravaged Rincon. Now, Rincon Hill is a beautiful neighborhood for walking, a few minutes to the financial district, shopping, and restaurants.

Read what Alexandra H. said about living on Rincon Hill:

"It's full of modern high-rise buildings and near the water. Interesting intersection of wealthy and homelessness. Being able to see the bay bridge at night is great."
